Eva Hitler

by Martin Kerr

LET ME BEGIN BY saying that I refer to Adolf Hitler’s wife as “Eva Hitler,” and not by her more commonly used maiden name, “Eva Braun.” The Führer married her at the very end, and thus legitimized her place in his life and their posterity. His wishes should be respected.

Generally speaking, I have found that as the years and decades roll on, historical accounts of Adolf Hitler and the Hitler Era have become better and better. By that I do not mean that they have become more pro-NS in a subjective sense, only that they have become more factually accurate.

About 25 years back, Ian Kershaw wrote an excellent two-volume biography of the Führer which was better than any mainstream treatment of his life that came before it. (I except the works of David Irving from the classification of “mainstream historian”; his writings are in a category by themselves, apart from and above those of other historians.)

I was looking forward to reading the new two-volume biography of Hitler by the German mainstream historian Ullrich Volker, in hopes that it would be better still. Alas, I was disappointed: For the most part, Volker’s biography is inferior to Kershaw’s.

But, having said that, Volker does produce a chapter on Eva Hitler that is far more insightful and far kinder than those that have appeared previously. (Nerin Gun’s biography Eva Braun was not too bad.) For the most part, these accounts portray her as a silly, empty-headed bimbo whom the Führer kept around for his amusement or as a decoration. Not so, says Volker.

Volker ends the chapter with this appraisal of her:

The image of Braun as the apolitical, naïve mistress of the Fuehrer has also been revealed as a deliberate distortion by Speer and other members of the Berghof society in order to claim ignorance after the war of the criminal [sic] nature of Hitler’s dictatorship. Braun was by no means the dumb blonde observers mistook her for. She was a modern young woman who knew quite well what she was getting into with Hitler and who herself helped bolster the mythic aura of the Fuehrer with the photos she gave to Hoffmann and with her home movies, which she made for posterity. Like others who were part of the Berghof circle, she shared Hitler’s racist beliefs [sic] and knew too well about the exclusion and persecution of the Jews. (Hitler: Ascent 1889-1939, page 635)

I imagine that Volker thinks he is impugning her historical reputation with these words, not rehabilitating it. I guess from his perspective, he is.

She was a very loyal lady, Hitler and her sister both begged her to leave the bunker but she refused, she even said to her sister “Do you think I will leave him?”. Very brave and loyal.

Agreed 100% Joshua. She was loyal to Herr Hitler and National Socialism to the very end. And let us not forget that it was Hitler who first proposed a normal friendly relationship with Britain upon coming to power. That Britain utterly ignored his requests and in fact was all along planning the opposite to peace should never leave our memories.

It is refreshing to view this item concerning
Eva Hitler after all these years of distortion
by the Jew-controlled mass media. Only in
the last few years has the fog of war at
last begun to dissipate, and that an
accurate historical perspective can be
gleamed from the factual events of that
era.

Remembering the glorious German National Socialist state!

To promote social cohesion, the glorious German National Socialist state introduced the “Day of the Stew” on October 1, 1933. German households should have stew on the table on Sundays. The stew was distributed by public soup kitchens. The proceeds benefited the poor. The “Day of the Stew Meal” was also intended to circumvent the undersupply of the population with fats. In the newspapers of that time there are many recipes to make the stew creative.

Thank you, NV, for letting Martin Kerr put his article on here.
I read it, under his SF username over there, but this is worth spreading far and wide.
Eva Braun Hitler was IMO, the luckiest frau in Germany of that time.
Heil!

Great article, she was a such a loyal & loving wife. A great example of how we Alliance women can support our Alliance men. With love, dedication, support, patience, tenderness and compassion for our men.

I once had the pleasure of meeting Martin Kerr. He is one of the best minds and best writers our cause has produced during the post-war decades. So when I saw the byline, I jumped in with much anticipation. Just as I got through what I assumed was a proper introduction… it ended. No meat and potatoes! I was all primed for an in depth read about Eva Hitler.

Thank you, thank you for this!

Among all the other nasty slanders and whatnot there was always something simple that bothered me, and this is exactly it — their petty theft of her marital status!

She *was* loyal, she *was* lovely,

AND

She WAS “Mrs. Hitler”.
