White Grift

ERIC Kaufmann is the go-to guru among establishment types when they want to understand the exotic world of White identity and White nationalism. That is, when they want to head it off at the pass.

Kaufmann himself is a “rainbow person” of (ahem) mixed descent:

Eric Kaufmann was born in Hong Kong and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and Japan. His ancestry is mixed with a quarter Chinese and a quarter Latino. His father Steve Kaufmann is of Jewish descent. The grandfather a secularist hailing from Prostejov in the modern Czech Republic.

Can you say rootless cosmopolitan? Can you say race bastard?

That’s not a strong brew of blood, that’s an unholy witch’s brew of amalgamation. Something sure is clogged at the bottom of that gene pool. Yes, sir, that’s a genetic heritage from all and sundry; it makes a hybrid look whole. If you look carefully you can see it in his face, the faint hint of something akin to fetal alcohol syndrome.

And, not surprisingly, this medley and potpourri of blood tells loudly in his work. Genetics is destiny, after all.

And not only is he of mixed descent, his thinking is mixed-up too. But that’s not surprising in the least, for like that miscegenating anti-CRT crusader Christopher Rufo, Kaufmann poses as a moderate friend to the White man — but is in fact our most dangerous and mortal enemy. Anything that can even potentially siphon off energy, or mollify, or placate is to be resisted with all our might. Kaufmann is a gatekeeper who dons the Mr. Rogers mien and says “we need to talk about White identity.” He’ll say some positive things about it, of course — that’s the bait; then he’ll tut tut about it and that’s the switch. He want to propitiate it and appease it in order to disarm it. He concedes a few trivial points in order to forestall the lot.

Kaufmann wrote a halfway decent book on America back in 2004 called The Rise and Fall of Anglo America. In it he traces the sorry demise of the core group of the Old America. His main thesis is roughly correct: That from its beginnings, White America already contained the seeds of its ultimate destruction. He called the Old America’s mode of being “double-consciousness” — meaning that early White leaders and intellectuals in America never doubted for a moment that this was an Anglo-Saxon nation; but alongside that they also always spoke in universal terms, that America was an “asylum of the nations.” In the end, the latter eclipsed the former.

And now we are just an asylum.

In 2019 he came out with his mega-ton academic blockbuster — a book called Whiteshift, subtitled Populism, Immigration, and the Future of White Majorities. 

His main idea is the perennial canard that White is a culture, not a race. He approves of the former and scorns — and is frightened witless — by the latter.

Whiteshift is his response to Brexit and Trump. It’s full of “cutting-edge research” and graphs and polling — but in the end it’s not much more than his forlorn hope that the “better angels” of our nature will prevail while giving only nods and winks to the stronger gods of our blood. In 2016 the academic world could well see that the White man was getting riled up; that the real natives were getting restless. They thought they had killed this “atavism” along with Perot and Buchanan and Duke back in the 1990s. But here it was, risen from its grave. As they saw it, all the Ghosts of White Men Past were roaming the countryside in search of prey. They were going delirious over Angel Moms, Mexicans as rapists, and complete and total shutdowns.

In the face of this unreconstructed upsurge, what’s a gatekeeper to do? For most academics, the answer was to treat the new movement like a colony of lepers and wail with banshee horror at it. Though Kaufmann takes a more subtle and circuitous approach, his goals are identical to the banshee wailers.

His approach can best be described as him saying:

“Easy there, big fella.”

His answer is to very gingerly toss the lion some red meat in the hopes that he will satisfy himself and cease to be a lion. But the meat Kaufmann offers up is rotten, poisoned, and filled with Jewish pus. 

His main thesis is particularly lunatic. First he palms off the lie that, just as King Canute could not stop the waves, so also White majorities can never stop the dark invasion. He frames this invasion of aliens as a “force of Nature” and totally outside human control. This is one of the preferred Jew lies. Of course it’s not a force of Nature to have this tidal flow of race garbage willy-nilly strewn across our once-pristine land. It is an effect of human (or rather inhuman) agency, Jew agency; it is the result of cold and coordinated calculation. It is a conspiracy against us. There is nothing inevitable or automatic about it. Maleficent enemies made these choices, and our death is their goal. 

All in all, Kaufmann wants Whites to say they’ve stopped worrying and learned to love the invasion. And he says in any event there’s really nothing to worry about; that when the “inevitable” mixing occurs and America is a grotesque melange of all the races under the Sun, when they are all jumbled up in a muck-and-mulatto paradise, that these mixed-race cretins of our (inevitable, mind you) future will still adhere to the traditions, values, and symbols of Whiteness.

What is required and will probably happen, he ventures, is the Whiteshift of his title, namely a process by which white majorities absorb an admixture of different peoples through intermarriage, but remain oriented around existing myths of descent, symbols, and traditions.

That is, Kaufmann says that Whiteness will retain its prestige and will continue to be the “gold standard” that the ever-browning population will want to identify and be associated with. He calls this “ethno-traditionalism,” which word’s obvious meaning is pretty close to being the opposite of the meaning he assigns to it.

He says that the ethno-tradition that all will flock to and under whose banner they will move is Whiteness with all of it symbols (i.e., “props”).

It takes significantly less than a second of thinking for anyone over age 10 to see that this notion of his is utter madness.

It is White Grift.

It is possibly true that in his imagined and desired miscegenated future, Whiteness would remain a guilty pleasure of sorts, much in the way that Indian subcontinentals and Mestizos and Mulattos are notoriously addicted to skin-whitening creams.

But the operative word here is “guilty.”

Really, putting forward such a crazy idea, and one so at odds with obvious reality, makes you wonder what planet he is living on. But that’s not really it. What it really is is that he’s a Jew. And this cockamamie framework is really just to encourage White people to entertain some futile daydreams while letting their people die, it’s a nefarious and obvious ploy to slip us some soma, so our demise goes down easy, or unnoticed at all, until it is too late.

For the idea that if we stay on our current trajectory that Whiteness will have prestige in the public space, and that’s the only space that matters, is not just wrong — it’s criminally wrong. One doesn’t even have to take a look around to see that Whiteness currently is in the dock, and in the stocks, that it is — or is fast becoming — the red-headed foster child of history: demonized, ostracized, marginalized, and despised. It is openly called “evil.” If such is the case when America is just under 60% White, what will it be like when it’s heading fast toward 40%? And below? And when mixed children and mixed everything is the new normal?

We recently learned that some 34% of White college applicants lied and said they were some other race on their applications. Why? The answer is obvious: They know that to be non-White will increase their chances — and we all know that they are sadly correct. 

They can see which way the racial winds are blowing in our society. In the public sphere, being White is not to belong to a privileged caste, but to one suffering from a myriad of legal and social disabilities and handicaps. But Kaufmann’s victims haven’t faced up to the most important truth of all (and Kaufmann hopes they never will), and that truth is: To lose your racial identity is to lose everything. To accept Kaufmann’s fantasy of putative “ethno-traditional survival” among mongrels is to be duped all along the line. It is the spoonful of sugar that makes the arsenic go down.

Values, traditions, and symbols have their place, but they are not and can never be a substitute for blood. Blood is primordial. Blood survives anything, except mixing and childlessness. It is the only thing that can endure. A telling example of Kaufmann’s White Grift:

Genetic similarity likewise exerts only a distant pull on human action — think how unnatural it would be for a white American to support the white Serbian Olympic basketball team against the mainly black American Dream Team!

How unnatural! Exclamation point! It will never happen!

Fast forward to reality. It already has happened. So much for him and his banal “certainties.”

He obviously thinks this is so obvious that it should not even need saying. But he’s got it completely wrong. Anyone paying any kind of attention can see a lot of White Americans, White nationalist or not, rooting against a pack of arrogant and often criminal Congoids. Just because they have “USA” on their jerseys is not a point of interest. And as for a rooting interest, it is Serbs all the way down.

But forget about hypotheticals. We have a real-life example of how clueless he is about race and about what motivates people.

He wrote the book in 2019, and by early 2021 the specific example he gives had its bubble burst. 

We all remember that when the purple-haired freaks and the sycophantic kneelers of the American women’s Olympic soccer team were bested 3 to 0 by the Swedish team, conservative-leaning White Americans everywhere were in ecstasy. And not just White nationalists, but MAGA normies as well. A broad cross-section of White Americans on the right were glad to see the impudent diversity-mongers of Team USA take a bath. And what was this Swedish team? Why it was chock full of young, healthy, wholesome White women. Not a bit of purple hair in the lot. And no kneeling for Negroes.

In their race-souls White people know who is “us” — and who is the enemy.

And so, in this small but telling detail, the White Grift gets its comeuppance. The ink wasn’t dry on his book when it was demonstrably proven wrong. 

The lesson?

Despite what the Kaufmanns of the world would have us believe, genetic similarity exerts not a distant but an intimate and inexorable pull. In fact, it is the center of gravitation. It is race, not culture, that is primal. And it follows that his larger thesis is equally false. Race creates culture, not the other way around. And that culture is contingent on that race. No other people can uphold it or will adhere to it. A mixed-race people will have a mixed-race culture — that is, no culture at all, or one so bastardized that it does not merit the name. If we want the values and traditions and symbols of Whiteness to persist, and we should, only the existence of the White race in its pure form can ensure it.

There is nothing inevitable about the decline of the White race. But if the White race goes, it is inevitable that its culture goes with it, the blithe blandishments of Whiteshift notwithstanding. Which is why we should reject out of hand Eric Kaufmann and his sleight of hand, and see him for what he is: Jew, gatekeeper, grifter — and an enemy of the first order.
