AIPAC Jews: Above the Law

by David Sims

HERE IS something about Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress ten years ago that you might not have known, because the facts were not widely publicized by the controlled media. Just after the Israeli Prime Minister had spoken favorably about “youth demanding more democracy,” a young woman named Rae Abileah interrupted him saying “No more occupation, stop Israeli war crimes, equal rights for Palestinians, occupation is indefensible!” She was attacked by persons in the audience and beaten until she had to go to the hospital, where she was taken after being dragged off by undercover security agents. [It turns out that she was a conscience-stricken Jewess; they do exist, though rare. Her attackers may have been unaware of her race. Those who attacked her, tackled her to the ground, and seriously injured her were AIPAC (Israeli lobby) delegates and they were never charged with any crime, as far as I can discover. Some human-like beings are more equal than others. — Ed.]

Knowing that the violence was taking place off-camera, Benjamin Netanyahu waited until the woman had been dragged away, and then he said: “You know, I take it as a badge of honor, and so should you, that in our free societies you can have protests. You can’t have these protests in the farcical parliaments in Tehran or in Tripoli. This is real democracy!”

Feh.

The police came to see the young woman in the hospital, but it wasn’t to ask her for a description of her attackers. On the contrary, they arrested her for speaking out in such a way that it inconvenienced the Prime Minister of Israel.

Do you begin to sense why what the media don’t show you is often more important, more telling, more necessary to understanding how power really works in this world, than what they do allow you to see and hear?
