NFL Death Watch: Massive Financial Hit

AFTER A YEAR of enormous attendance drops and television ratings losses, the NFL salary cap is set to take a historic hit of nearly $16 million.
The league that began their season with near empty stands and then chased away television viewers by turning their gameday experience into a platform for social justice messaging, announced on Wednesday that all teams will have to be at or under a salary cap of $182.5 million by 4:00 PM EST on March 17.
The $182.5 million figure represents a $15.7 million drop from the $198.2 million cap the league had last year.
As Pro Football Talk reports, “The 2021 cap could have been reduced by tens of millions more without the NFLPA and league finalizing a new CBA and negotiating an agreement in July to have the season.”
The NFL was not the only major American sports league to take a massive financial hit in 2020.
As Forbes reported on Tuesday, the top four U.S. sports leagues lost over $14 billion in revenues during the pandemic-plagued 2020 season.
The revenue losses stem primarily from historic drops in attendance due to the virus.
Of course, the four major sports leagues surrendering to Black Lives Matter didn’t help matters either.

Going back 2,000 years, jews were also the “owners” of many of the gladiators and other pathetic “entertainers” during those gory, decadent days. I used to watch a football game occasionally 20 years ago, but then I realized how much better that valuable weekend time could be spent doing ANYTHING else. Also, the insidious push of miscegenation in the commercials became too much for me to bear. Sports is a poor metaphor for life. I used to like to compete, but I never could get into being “one of the guys” of a random pack of guys usually based on absolutely nothing. For whatever it’s worth, if one looks at all of the Olympic sports as a whole, whites dominate almost all of them. However, the system largely focuses on just the several sports that blacks compete well in.
That was one of my most enjoyable memories as a young child in the late 1970’s and into the 80’s. Watching the Winter Olympics. Every team, that included the teams from Asia, all competing and representing their respective Native Countries on a competitive level. Despite all of the political differences there were in the world. It seemed as though the Nations of the World knew their place. It was majestic to me. What a tragedy now unfolding here in the west.

But doesn’t it just blows your mind when they tell us to hate Hitler, and what he stood for, and yet he was the one that started the Olympics in the first place, wouldn’t they want to abolish everything that man did oh, except for this and that, and how scientist of his time invented marvelous tools we use now. I never liked sports, it was South Africa’s downfall, because in the 60’s they were refused to enter the Olympics because of their apartheid, unless of course they abolish it. Sports is nothing but pride.

No, that was Baron Pierre de Coubertin in 1894, the first Olympics of the modern era being held in Athens in 1896.
Greetings Geli. Many of the current traditions were introduced during the Berlin Olympics including the torch-runner and the Olympic flame. Sport is more than pride but pride is important. It was expecially important for the pre-WW2 Germans who had previously been bankrupted, starving and demoralized a decade earlier. They were astonishingly successful in their Olympics and strove to make Germany a peaceful tourist destination, and therefore they had to be destroyed.
I’ve given up watching all sports except Nordic skiing and cycling. Nordic Biathlon is great (a mixture of cross-country skiing and shooting) as there are no ‘third-worlders’ and the fact you have to be a good marksman guarantees there will never be a sub-saharan participant.
