Hateful ‘Hip-Hop’ Curriculum in Public Schools
HATE-FILLED “raps” against White American historical figures are an integral part of a new “hip-hop” curriculum in Oklahoma City’s public school system, though city nabobs are thinking about backing off now that details of the program have emerged into the public eye. A sample:
“Andrew Jackson, thinks he’s a tough guy./ Killing more Indians than there are stars in the sky./ Evil wars of Florida killing the Seminoles./ Saying hello, putting Creek in the hell holes./ Like Adolf Hitler he had the final solution./ ‘No, Indians, I don’t want you to live here anymore.'”
“White men getting richer than Enron./ They stepping on Indians, women and blacks./ Era of Good Feeling doesn’t come with the facts…. ” This particular “song” is called “Old Dead White Men.”
The program, called Flocabulary, is apparently a desperate effort at getting their more feral students interested in something besides gang violence, theft, drugs, and loveless, illicit sex. It is designed to teach almost every subject in a “hip-hop” rhyming style, not just history.

When Betty Williams, a teacher at Martin De Porres School in Brooklyn, which also uses Flocabulary, brought in Rappaport and co-founder Blake Harrison for a classroom performance, the men were met with “shrieks of utter disbelief” from the “mostly Black and Latino students.” “They had no idea, they were so shocked that they were two white guys that were into the rhythm,” said Williams. Rappaport is a name more associated with a certain Middle Eastern ethnicity, but the distinction was apparently lost on Williams et al.
